The stack we work in every day — and the reasoning behind each choice.

Our Stack

Chosen to be handed over, not to be impressive

We pick tools your own engineers can hire for and maintain after we step back. Where you already have a stack, we work in it rather than introducing a parallel one — and if we think a choice is wrong, we say so with the reasoning rather than quietly working around it.

How We Choose

Four questions before anything goes in

  • Can your team run it? If maintaining it needs a specialist you do not have and will not hire, it is the wrong tool however good it is.
  • Can we get out of it? We avoid choices that make the next migration someone else’s expensive problem.
  • Does the cost scale the way the business does? Per-seat, per-query and egress pricing get modelled before commitment, not after the first invoice.
  • Is it boring enough? New is a cost. We take it on where the payoff is clear and stay conservative everywhere else.
Staying Current

How the team keeps up

Certifications sponsored

Azure, Databricks, AWS and equivalent certifications are paid for, including the retake, with study hours set aside rather than expected in the evenings.

Evaluated before adopted

New tools go through an internal spike and a written recommendation before they appear in a client engagement. Client work is not where we learn a platform.

Taught back internally

Whoever learns something runs the session on it. The same material feeds the NextBrix academy programmes.

Send us what you are running now. We will tell you honestly what we would keep, what we would change and what is not worth touching.
